Issue or Background
In order to encourage exchanges between South Korea and ASEAN countries and drive growth in both regions, a control and monitoring system was developed as a testbed serving two purposes, i) to give engineers from ASEAN countries where 5G network is not established the opportunity to learn 5G technology and ii) demonstrate the technology. -
Solution
WATA developed a control and monitoring platform that can work on both demonstration and operation modes. As a demonstration tool, the Platform demonstrated RTT-based accurate positioninng technology and features enabled by this technology such as checking the location of a confirmed case, fire and emergency situation for visitors and engineers. -

Location and incident monitoring
WATA developed an indoor/outdoor location tracking and control system with its AI spatial awareness technology in selected areas at the Village. With the employment of Wi-Fi RTT technology that allows for more accurate postioining in a wide area, information including real-time locations of visitors, location tracking, visitor lists, density analysis, revisit rate was provided giving a comprehensive visitor data. Further, for an effective incident/safety management, sending emergency messages and active monitoring features were applied to support a rapid response to emergencies such as fire and pandemic outbreaks.

Results
A contol and monitoring solution with more precise positioning was developed with Wi-Fi RTT(Round-Trip Time) postioning technology that utilizes fewer APs than the existing Wi-Fi RSSI but with a wider positioning range. The application of RTT technology was successfully realized and accurate postioning results were obtained. RTT positioning technology and services enabled by this technology are expected to be applied to touristic places in Busan.
